It is, regardless, but the problem comes when you're using them
"abnormally".

I can find the H key without having to search for it on the keyboard.
So when I want to type an H it's easy.

I can find the up arrow key equally easily.

If on the other hand there was no up arrow key and one had to hit H to
get the same effect, that would be difficult. Once I made the
translation from "I want to go up" to "H" I'd be golden, since I can
find the H key very quickly. But the translation is the spoiler. Since
"H" bears no logical relationship to "up", it would require some
thinking every time, which rapidly adds up to a serious slowdown.
