Jim Buss picks em! (game report)

Buss Jr. pushed for both Turiaf and Bynum. Those two
(along with Farmar) really showed last night.

Turiaf was very active (as usual) and played the four the way
it needs to be played: hit the mid-range jumper, bang for boards
and roll to the hoop opportunistically. The guy really sees the
floor; I actually felt a lot better about the team whiffing on
Scola (perfect tri pf).

Lil'Andy was stronger, quicker, more fluid than before, finishing
with authority. Didn't look to challenge shots (not wanting to
pick up cheap fouls), but at least once he didn't get his hands
up when he could have. Was the most dominant big out there,
although that is not saying much. I like what I see.

Farmar is on a mission: win the starting spot. Forget Kobe
(assuming he's here this season) as the facilator. Jordy can
get in done. His shooting is improved as is his decision making.
Kobe was better when he was looking to score (although Farmar's
game seemed to suffer a bit when Kobe dominated the ball--surprise.)

Critter: Good looking rook with ability to get to the rack at will. Needs
seasoning. Worked very well with Bynum: breaking down the d and
spoon feeding the big. (You know, like Kobe and Shaq used to.)

Luke: was Luke.

Fisher: please limit his minutes.

Kwame: I missed the first minutes of the game--didn't really see him play.

Mihm: Looked like Mihm. At times very effective, but too many other
times looked mechanical. He's a quality back-up. Please don't start him.

Vlade: Zippo.

Sasha: He's a lot better thus far. Can he carry it into the regular
season? I
like his new heft and attacking style.

Coby Karl: End of the pine.

Maurice Evans: Handle looks to be improved. Great back-up at the 2 spot.

My starters:

Bynum
Turiaf
Odom
Kobe (insert traded for two here)
Farmar
